Hybrid VPN

If I'm using hybrid VPN via the OpenVPN protocol wouldn't smartest detect the traffic as OpenVPN and then whatever traffic I'm sending, like Netflix or YouTube for example? I know VPN encrypts traffic but does that also stop DPI? All traffic just shows as unknown and not even OpenVPN. Help/thoughts please

As it's encrypted traffic DPI cannot determine what that traffic is - it should detect OpenVPN though. Resync the cloud please and then see if it updates

Total assumption from me as I'm new to Netduma, but I would have thought that the hybrid VPN was occurring on the "outside interface". Meaning.. that you'd still see all the traffic once it is "local" to the router. If this isn't the case, then how does geo-filtering work with hybrid-vpn?

How long does it typically take for them to update to cloud in order to detect certain traffic?

It really depends, there is no set timeframe.

It is possible we're not classifying traffic originating from DumaOS itself i.e. HVPN traffic isn't classified as OVPN
