How do I use my XR1000 as a second router?

Recommended Posts

I’m connecting an XR1000 to another netgear router. At first I tried using router lan to XR1000 wan port and that didnt work. I couldn’t access dumaos at all even though the XR1000 was working fine using the nighthawk app. Then I did lan to lan connection and I can access dumaos but my xr1000 has no router capabilities nothing can connect to it. I can get into dumaOS but I cant do anything because my macbook won’t connect via wifi to my XR1000

Basically just trying to connect my PS5 to it and use geofiltering for call of duty. I actually have my PS5 connected through ethernet cable and it works fine. The only thing thats not working is dumaos so I cant actually use the geofilter or anything. If I just use the router with the nighthawk app it works fine.

Routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1 doesn’t work. It just doesn’t load the website at all.

Alright thank you, I actually connected it Lan to Wan, didnt change the IP or anything but somehow it worked this time. No clue why it worked. If it stops working tomorrow though I’ll try giving the XR1000 its own IP

The IPs were very likely conflicting as they're both Netgear the default IP is 192.168.1.1 and when it detects a conflict (usually during setup) it will change itself to 10.0.0.1

Gotcha. For what its worth on the nighthawk app it still shows internal IP as 192.168.1.1 for the XR1000

Either way everything was actually working fine, including the geofilter. Was getting connected to nearby servers, games seemed easier etc. Good experience so far!
