banjo22
I thought I was done with DHCP issues, but they seem to be rearing their ugly head again. I noticed when the wife turned on her laptop yesterday that my Playstation 5 disconnected from the online game it was in 🤬 It could have been coincidental... This evening, turning on my laptop, I found out after logging in there was no network again; it came back after a couple of minutes (every device in the household was down) I have attached the log. Could someone look it over? For the record, both laptops have reserved DHCP addresses... R3_2024-07-30T19_59_47.179Z_logs.txt
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 30 Administrators Share Posted July 30 Assign reserved IP addresses to devices so they're out of the DHCP range, then disable DHCP, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 4 minutes and see if that stops the disconnects. It's important you reserved all the devices IP addresses otherwise they won't be able to connect to the router.

That sounds mad for a router.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 30 Administrators Share Posted July 30 You shouldn't need to but we're troubleshooting to see if what you suspect is the issue
Proud R3 Owner
That doesn't work. I have IP reservations and static assigned IPs on devices out of DHCP range and still get disconnects on those devices. Only thing I've managed to do was max out the DHCP range (77.2-77.254) and set the lease time to 10k.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 30 Administrators Share Posted July 30 We're actively looking into the disconnects so that will get resolved, if you think that's the issue for you then it's worth a try, it may well not be the same issue we're investigating. Proud R3 Owner
Yeah I don't get disconnects from large file downloads. Honestly I'm baffled as well as my R3 can be fully functional when we all go to bed and then not working when I wake up with no users on it (not counting random use by devices in sleep mode i.e. PS5/Xbox/phones/TVs). Doing what I mentioned above has let me use the R3 for a longer periods of time but doesn't resolve the issue. Honestly for me each beta update has improved my personal experience with this unit. Also reading the forum for tips and tricks for more responsive gameplay (i.e. bandwidth reservation) have been very beneficial. Still a great community for information and great responsive people responsible for production/development. Keep up the good work!
