RFGrinch
Hi fraser. Any help again. Keep running into same issue. After a while my R3 gives strict nat then double nat on xbox. Never have ipv6. I did use dmz mode last time on older router as u said that would. Now im with a new company and got a linksys spnmx42. I do have this in dmz now but having this issue again. I will turn dmz off and see how that works with the update you released abit ago. that hasnt done anything. Still strict double nat. far too many issues with it. Wish would also just stay searching in my local server area selected instead of it getting bored then jumping up to 100 and something ping eachtime. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 13 Administrators Share Posted June 13 Double check the IP you're put into the DMZ, set that as a static IP on the linksys so it never changes after that. Where are you testing the NAT status?
RFGrinch
On the xbox. Always had an issue with the loss of ipv6. If connect to my connect fibre linksys router i get it all back. But want everything sweet on the duma. Dont get why i have to run in dmz altime. Strange that its exactly the same issue and have totally different provider, router and their own lines. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 13 Administrators Share Posted June 13 We're working on improving IPv6 so best to disable it at the moment. Without the DMZ on the linksys it's performing routing, then that traffic is going to the R3 and being routed - that's the double NAT. To avoid this you enable the DMZ so all traffic goes straight through to the R3 without being impacted.
RFGrinch
I will set it back up in dmz mode in a mo and make ip static.

I will send you a screenshot in a mo In your ISP router, you will need to give the R3 a static IP. You might find this in DHCP page. Once you set this static IP, you then need to put that IP into the DMZ page and enable it. RFGrinch
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 14 Administrators Share Posted June 14 Exactly as above - looks like the screenshot you provided was for Internet Settings which you don't want to change. Could also be in LAN Settings. RFGrinch
RFGrinch
In connectivity. Local network there is dhcp server settings. has start ip address. static dns 1,2,3 advanced routing. That has add static rule. dmz has. Source ip address. Destination ip.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 14 Administrators Share Posted June 14 Sounds like that could be it, feel free to provide a screenshot (preferably from a PC) if you want to double check

RFGrinch
thats everything. But guessing it will be on the local network one. Dhcp server. Static dns 1.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 14 Administrators Share Posted June 14 It's the DHCP reservations button that you want from the first image RFGrinch

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 18 Administrators Share Posted June 18 What's been done physically to your setup/settings prior to this? Have you rebooted the R3 for example?
RFGrinch
Only at that time as i switched dmz on linksys. Went to go on games yest and checked network and was back to strict. I dont have a clue why it would do this. Let me check what its at right now. Make sure still says strict
RFGrinch
Yes it does.
RFGrinch
Restarted both again and its back to open. Surely i dont have to keep doing this. its happened again. All i did was turn xbox off earlier. booted it back up now and its back to strict. what could be causing this as it isnt good me having to restart all routers each time i want to use xbox. Did what you said with dmz mode and reservation for static ip.
