xDefiant and XR1000

The issues I am having are

 

●xDefiant doesn't appear on the list for games in the geofilter. Read somewhere that it appears with a certain firmware but my XR1000 is at a different highest firmware with it saying the most recent firmware is installed. 

●Ping Heatmap is not loading at all. I am getting the rapps message.

If you're on PC:

  1. Remove device from the Geo-Filter
  2. Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager
  3. Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu
  4. Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter with the manual option

and you can try to filter it that way though we do need to spend more time getting better compatibility for the game.

Go to the System Information page and then in the Rapp panel menu ≡ change the retries to 5, reboot from the interface, wait 4 minutes before accessing and see if it Heatmap loads then please.

The Rapp is not loaded please try again in a few minutes. I feel like a solution to dealing with constant lag in this game is finding the most stable server to play on using the Ping Heat map or Geofilter but both don't seem to work for this game.

We're aware that it's not filtering 100% of the time, they're using proxies/relays so it's not as easy, it will take time to see if we can fully filter it.

What firmware version are you on currently?

I see. Best idea is to leave matches until it gives me a match on a good server 😂 Thanks for the help 😁

Probably best for the moment! We'll definitely be testing the game when available so we can't say for certain whether it can be filtered until then - we didn't think xdefiant would be a problem and it turned out to be

What do you mean by using proxies and relays? I understand the basic concept, but explain it to me like I'm 5. How does the server matchmaking connection differ from a game like COD where you connect directly to the server?

The proxy is a relay, it is what communicates data between users but it remains undetectable by users!
He can filter data at his convenience.


To put it simply, you can take a game of ping pong as an example:
the net represented by the proxy, each time the ball passes over the net the relay will decide where and what speed the ball will arrive towards the other player.

How is it that the hit detection in this game is like a switch from good to bad. Last night my hit detection was perfect but this morning it's the opposite? 😂
