Sunkin
Hello everyone, I just received the R3. However, I noticed that the power plug is not compatible with my wall socket. Could you please tell me if I can use the plug from my old R2 router? If not, could you let me know which adapter I should buy? Thanks in advance. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 27 Administrators Share Posted May 27 Is that not the adapter we provide next to it so that it can be used with your outlets? Double check the specs on the both adapters to see if they match but you probably can use the R2 one.
DARKNESS
Wouldn’t recommend using the R2 adapter as it uses different voltage which may turn on the router but it will affect the router when using higher amp so it will shut off or cause damage over time. The specifications should be 12V, 1.5A if you have another adapter with same specs you can use it just don’t use one that has higher voltage however you can use one with higher A. Sunkin
This is indeed the adapter that you provide with the R3. However, if you look at my wall socket (white), it doesn't fit because the shape is different. On the R3 adapter, it says "INPUT 100-240V 50/60Hz 0.5A Max OUTPUT: 12.0V," and on the R2 adapter, it says "INPUT 200-240V 50/60Hz 0.25A OUTPUT: 12V." There is a slight difference, which is why I am asking if using the R2 adapter with the R3 could potentially damage my R3.

Sunkin
I didn't have this problem when I bought my R2. I don't understand why the compatibility of plugs isn't mentioned somewhere on the website, especially since you have customers from all over the world. In any case, I am a bit disappointed. Thank you and goodbye.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 27 Administrators Share Posted May 27 Ahh that diamond cut out is actually for all your outlets? I'll have to pass that feedback onto the team Sunkin
DARKNESS
@SunkinIf you can't find one just buy yourself a universal plug should be cheaper/easier than finding a compatible adapter. Sunkin
