Issues with ping not staying within state

Has anyone had any issues with geofilter? I just got a R3 router and I'm having some regrets in upgrading. 😆 I had the xr1000 and I have not once had any issues. My ping stays at 25ms and I only play within my state. Now with the R3 it goes out of the radar I had chosen. I can't get it to stay in area selected. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. Anyone have some advice?

Great question. Honestly don't know lol. The only thing I did was just mark the state I live in and added my ps5 to my device.

I would stick with your previous router. Most of the core R3 features work properly and you will end having to disable them meaning the R3 is no better than a XR1000. Other things not working is CC with IPV6, port forwarding with IPv6 on PS5 etc. Netduma has been promising a firmware for about 2 monthes, and we don’t know specifically what’s being addressed. All we know is that they are working on a firmware that is “supposed” to address these issues. Up to this point none of the issues have been addressed besides a cpu utilization problem.

  • Administrators
  • Disable GeoLatency
  • Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0)
  • Enable Strict Mode
  • Disable Fast Search

Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then.

An outsourced company handles this (if I'm not mistaken). Just try it later. I've had that happen to me as well.

We are aware Ping Optimizer/Speed Test isn't 100% reliable at the moment and it's something the team are working on. Those features can still work, it just may not be every time. In the meantime best to adjust Congestion Control manually in Ping Optimizer > Advanced.

Fraser I tried those steps you told me it's still doing the same. It keeps connecting to of the zone area. My ping keeps going up. I know with the xr1000 i was getting 25 ping now its double that on my new r3.

Is steady ping on or off and are you using the simple or custom filter on the Geo Filter?

It's on.

It might not make a difference but turn off steady ping and only use the simple Geo Filter for now.

Do try with Steady Ping disabled and also use the Simple method instead of custom for filtering and see if that helps

I just followed what Rossi said. It worked. Thanks either way. You all been awesome.

Glad I can help you out. If we all share what works best for us we can get the best out of the device while the Dev's are working on firmware upgrades.

Very true. Again thank you.
