White_Mamba
From what I can tell, the Geo-Latency would be more for those trying to get servers that are kind of far away or on other continents or are searching with no Geo-Filter boundaries set as a way to keep the game from kicking people out of the lobby in case their ping went too high or something. So if you are looking for servers within +/-500 miles, you don't need it. Steady Ping will give you the look of playing at a higher ping but like it says, it creates a buffer zone for your ping but if you have a bad connection, that zone can be in flux from game to game and is generally for those who have higher that 50ms ping, or something like that. I already get low ping so when I use steady ping, it is searching for lobbies with that higher ping but then I find that I get into lobbies with higher ping players and sometimes the ping breaks the buffer zone. Playing without it, I see some occasional ping spikes but the games I'm in are played at my lower ping so the spike doesn't end up being that noticeable. The settings are to help everybody no matter where they live but not everybody needs to use all of the settings. If you are really good at the game and you keep getting into really competitive lobbies, like in COD when matching you to a lobby, it cares more about your skill during the last several games than it does the connection so the better the players in the lobby, the higher the ping, or so it seems. I'm sure somebody could have said it better and shorter so if you get this far and are confused, just ignore this.

Derek2626
ryekye, same with me regarding the constant rebooting, i ll be looking at the router on my laptop and every so often it will just say "trying to re-connect to router" and Everytime i initially turn on my xbox and try to start call of duty up it says "For this game you need to be online", i cancel that and try 2 more times, the 3rd time it usually boots up the game....never had this issue with my xr500

Since yesterday it has happened to me with the Netgear xr1000, I look for a search ping of 15 and it jumps from 15 to 122 and connects me to an authentication server.
