I renamed all the devices on my network to their appropriate name after a couple of restarts over the last two days of the router I’ve noticed a number going back to their default value. Is this going to be a regular thing? Is it possible to back them up at least so I can restore when this happens?

The device network data is so good on the netduma but completely pointless if you don’t know what device you’re looking at.

thanks

A number going back to the default? How were you restarting the router exactly?

I restarted through the web interface, nothing unexpected for the router.
some smart plus, PlayStations, Amazon devices had gone back to default, but a number I had changed were fine.

Try and rename them really quick, I think there is an issue if you take too long to name something it reverts, then see if it saves better

I've notice when you rename one in 2.4 and if it goes to 5 on wifi, you have to rename it again. Hop that helps

That makes sense as the device will have a different MAC address for that connection method, so the router essentially sees it as a completely new device

Definitely the same device as the same MAC address that im renaming. I noticed after upgrading to .41 last night my PS5 was renamed to PlayStation again and this is an Ethernet connected device :(
