JustinW
Hello just wanted to post about a little bug I recently ran into. I was on the Duma app on iPhone and I clicked to resync the cloud. While it was updating/syncing my phone went into sleep/auto-lock mode (I unlocked within a sec) when I unlocked my phone I got the reconnecting to router after about 10secs it gave an error and unable to connect and brought me to the login screen ( put in username/password) I then attempted to login again with no luck, same error message unable to connect. I then checked my WiFi in phone settings it said connected but no internet. I then hit the button the back of the router to turn it off for about a minute the turned it back on. After that internet/WIFI was working. I ran a speed test and noticed I was only getting about 70dl (have 500dl 50up) upload was fine. I then checked my settings and noticed it connected me to the 2.4ghz not the 5ghz (have the bands separated since some devices in my home only work on 2.4ghz) I then tried to switch but got a message 5g unavailable due to channel congestion (something along those lines, don’t remember the exact message). I then went back into the app and switched my 5g from auto to manual and that worked had access to 5g again. I then ran another speed test with similar results between 100-150dl. I went back into the app and clicked reboot from the top right, after reboot no luck still the same speeds. I tried on my Xbox which is wired and was getting my full speed. I then tried on my wife’s phone with similar results around 100-150dl. Then I went back into the app and switched from manual back to auto for 5g. Again 5g didn’t show up, was on 2.4g, went back into the app and saw it toggled off broadcast network name. Switched that on the 5g appeared, connected, ran a speed test and full speeds were back. Wanted to bring those finding to your attention with the weird slower speed when on manual vs auto and the router no longer sending WiFi and needing a reboot when my phone went to sleep/auto-lock while resyncing cloud. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 18 Administrators Share Posted January 18 That's a very strange one, surely the phone locking wouldn't have caused that but I will pass this onto the team so they can try to reproduce it, thanks for the report!
