Simon Thomas
Just purchased my R3 but have been trying to figure out if its actually doing what it is intended to do. Can someone please help me, there is no option for me to add a server to my ALLOW list. I dont even think I have an allow list to perform that function. Secondly it always says i am "inactive" and have no game in progress when clearly i do. I play MW3 on PC loading up from battle.net At this point im doubtful i am even connecting to a server even though I have the geofilter over the area i want. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 12 Administrators Share Posted January 12 I think the first question is, are you seeing any icons on the map at all when you're playing?
Simon Thomas
Hi Fraser, thanks for your response! There are definitely no icons on the map when i am playing. Screenshot below. When I select CoD: Modern Warfare 3 on the Ping Heatmap page it shows all the various servers, but as soon as I click onto the Geofilter page then back again they all disappear. Really would appreciate your help on this one!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 13 Administrators Share Posted January 13 Try this: Quit the application/game/client completely including from the System Tray Remove device from the Geo-Filter Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client Then see if it works. Simon Thomas
Hi Fraser, Thanks for the quick response. So it all appears to be working. Do these indicators look ok to you? Would you expect good game play with this? Is there anything i could further optimise?
Simon Thomas
Just to add one thing. I have always felt like i have a significant amount of de-sync when playing call of duty mw3 especially on the Resurgence maps.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 13 Administrators Share Posted January 13 That looks okay, when you get that message its for a legitimate reason it wasn't able to ping so assuming the ping in game is okay it should be good. Is that even with Steady Ping enabled and working? It should bring you more in sync with the game.
Simon Thomas
I was playing this evening and i had some really decent games in CoD and for the first time I think I had de-sync under control. It felt like i wasn't just getting hit markers all the time. It was almost unplayable for me before so im thinking the Netduma did its work. Yeah I also noticed tonight that some servers would connect and show the realtime moving graph of the ping but others wouldn't, is that common? Guessing thats normal but maybe its a connection issue with the servers themselves. Thanks for your help!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 13 Administrators Share Posted January 13 That's great to hear! Yes that's normal, if we can improve the amount of successful pings vs unsuccessful we will definitely do that.

In warzone it constantly unstablilizes is the issue I’ve been seeing, it’s on and off the entire games because I think the ping spikes that occur no matter where is stabilizes it at, I believe it’s the issue that’s supposed to be addressed with the new firmware. In mp it stays stabilized most of the time though it’s more so warzone that don’t.

The best thing about this game is to increase your buffer between 10 and 50ms or more! 😉

Simon Thomas
x12Tyler I totally agree with you that WZ is so much more unstable than MP. It would be so good if there was a fix for this. Sometimes its barely playable in WZ. Interesting! Thanks! So if my download ping is sitting at 15ms do you mean to turn it up to say 30ms (for example) using the Steady Ping function? Any other tips for combating de-sync and getting good responsive gameplay? Yeah i am waiting for the updated firmware too
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 15 Administrators Share Posted January 15 New firmware should resolve the jitter/spikes and should improve the Geo-Filter/overall performance of the router x12Tyler and Disrek
Simon Thomas
Hi Fraser, that would be a game changer! Cant wait! Netduma Fraser
