East Coast USA, with Geo Filter, Connecting to London with false ping

I'm not entirely sure at all how this is remotely possible... but two things to point out.

1) -- I connected to a server so far outside my Geo Filter, I can't quite wrap my head around it... and

2) It claims my ping is 30ms from router... but my in-game shows quite a different story (125ms, as it should be).

So, why am I connecting that far outside (at all) my geo-filter, and why is it so horribly reporting the wrong ping from the router?

  • Administrators
  • Disable GeoLatency
  • Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0)
  • Enable Strict Mode
  • Disable Fast Search

Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then. As for the ping it might be a relay server, as in there is a server close by you're connecting to that is connecting you to London and the router is reading the ping the relay server

  • Deshabilitar la geolatencia
  • Deshabilite PingAssist (configúrelo en 0,0)
  • Habilitar modo estricto

It's no use doing all that if it keeps connecting outside. I would like to know if they are going to solve it.

I have tried all the methods and it doesn't work, it's frustrating because in cod if you don't have a good decent ping, you don't kill me. I did better on R2. What happened with R2, it heated up a lot and died and I noticed that R3 heats up too much.

Hi. I too am having the same issue where Geo-filter is constantly allowing connections outside of my circle.
At the same time, I can't really adjust Ping Assist. It will keep on changing back to 0ms.
I did the troubleshooting above as recommended. But no dice.

Looks like you have Geo-Latency enabled there which is probably why. What web browser are you using to try to change ping assist? Are you connecting to the interface using HTTP or HTTPS?

i have this for dmz or warzone or other Game Modes.
DMZ i play in London or Amsterdamm

Multiplayer i play in USA.
Geo Filter is set to USA.

Multiplayer works good, but only i start the Game and go to Multiplayer.
If i start dmz and later Multiplayer it dont work.

My Settings:

Geo Latancy off
Ping Assist off
Steady Ping off
Strict mode on
Fast Search off

Ah! You're right! Many thanks!
Was using Chrome. I think after I restarted my router, issue seems to be fixed in regards to the Ping Assist always changing back to 0ms after you pull it to anything higher.
