Kevomeister011
Whenever I have SmartBoost turned on and I run a connection statistics check on my Series X the upload speed is drastically reduced. I pay for 1GB symmetrical fiber. With my older router I would get around 800Mb up and down. The R3 will hit around 900 depending on the time of day. When I turn on SmartBoost my upload drops to 50 - 60Mb.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 9 Administrators Share Posted January 9 It'll be prioritizing gaming or something else over the speed test most likely, do you have Congestion Control enabled also?

I only have the Console added as a prioritized device. I usually have CC running. The Ping Optimizer in expert mode never runs a ping test below 87% for either up or down. Most of the time I set the sliders myself.
DARKNESS
@Kevomeister011Did you try switching lan ports and checking whether speeds changed since I had a bug were it was slow on one specific port...
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 9 Administrators Share Posted January 9 When you say with SmartBOOST turned on, does that mean you get full speeds when you've disabled it fully - as in you go to the page and it says it's disabled and you can't change any settings? Yes that is correct. The download never seems to be affected. For some reason The Speedtest Bypass feature no longer shows up under the Advanced Ping Optimizer. DARKNESS
@Kevomeister011If speed test Bypass doesn't appear try using incognito and check whether it appears...So when you switched ports did you get any different results? Also am referring to the ports on the R3 not your switch. Edited January 9 by DARKNESS
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 9 Administrators Share Posted January 9 Okay it's probably the Congestion Control settings then that is affecting it, what percentages do you have it set to and is it on Always or Auto?

Also am referring to the ports on the R3 not your switch. The bypass feature showed up for the first few weeks I’ve had the router. Just noticed that it’s gone now. I’ll try the incognito mode I have not tried a different port. I’ll do that and post whether it changes or not.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 9 Administrators Share Posted January 9 Clear browser cache and speed test bypass should then appear. If you check on a wired PC do you have the expected speeds? I know the console speed tests are not always accurate
