DARKNESS
You can't force change regions using geofilter on fortnite unless you change the regions manually in settings in the game...regardless I wouldn't leave it on auto as I have seen the game sometimes connect you to further away servers based on some algorithm bug so it best just to set the region and then use geofilter to force lock on the specific area etc.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 7 Administrators Share Posted January 7 Which servers aren't appearing that you think should be? As above have you changed region as well as changing the Geo settings?
Sevenreflex
Yes I’ve changed the geo settings but what I can see the only one that’s missing is the Dallas servers and the only server I can connect too is Norfolk even on central jussmurr
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 8 Administrators Share Posted January 8 Set your location on the game Set your location on the Geo map Disable GeoLatency Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0) Enable Strict Mode Disable Fast Search Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then. jussmurr

Ping Heatmap isn't showing is currently on any game, that's an issue we're aware of but assuming the game still has it you can connect to it. Filtering for Fortnite though is quite difficult, you would need to use Geo-Latency really to avoid being kicked frequently but it won't be full proof just due to the way they handle matchmaking. jussmurr
jussmurr
It does seem to be an issue with fortnite routing tho and not my isp correct? If I use a vpn I think I can get on the Dallas server but then I cannot see what server I'm on in the geo filter or utilize steady ping cause the vpn. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 21 Administrators Share Posted November 21 How are you determining you're on the Dallas server in that instance? It'll be the game deciding where to put you - unless your routing to the Dallas server is so bad it automatically won't connect you to it but that's unlikely
jussmurr
It was connecting me there before recently it stopped. Because it say says 9ms ping when routing thru the vpn to dallas in the in-game settings to cental And thats the ping I would be getting to dallas normally. yet without the vpn it sends me to Norfolk and says 43 ping to cental. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 21 Administrators Share Posted November 21 It could be that your ping with the VPN would cause it to be much higher on the other servers so it essentially forces you on to Dallas. Try it again with Geo-Latency and have your radius only cover Dallas.
jussmurr
I have tried that as well, it gives me a matchmaking error in fortnite and will never connect to a server.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 21 Administrators Share Posted November 21 It is actively avoiding you getting that server then - do you ever get it without the Geo-Filter & VPN or direct to your ISP modem?
jussmurr
I used to until a couple months ago it was the best server for me. I got 0 ping to dallas.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 22 Administrators Share Posted November 22 That's impossible but sounds like they may be phasing out that server or reserving it for busy periods - I wouldn't be surprised if you're able to play on it closer to and during the holiday period
