Anybody else having trouble finding games with the geo filter on mwIII?

Recommended Posts

Try these steps:

  • Disable GeoLatency
  • Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0)
  • Enable Strict Mode
  • Disable Fast Search

Restart the game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in game) if that doesn't work, reboot your console or PC and try again.

You are not the only one that happens to connect to servers outside the circle and I have done everything, it is probably some bug in the router. I have realized that it looks for low latency servers for the router but not for your location, in other words, the router. look for your best connection for the router and not for you

@Netduma Fraser Sin suerte. Desafortunadamente, todavía me hace ping y me conecta a diferentes servidores fuera del radio.

@emma787 Exactly. Then when it does find your server it never connects to it. It just keeps on blinking wanting to. The first time I installed the new firmware .23 it was working fine. The next day just did a complete 180. I’m hoping it gets fixed soon. Kinda frustrating having to try everything and nothing works…

Based on the ping, that server in South America for example, very unlikely you'd have 40ms to it so yes it does appear to be favoring ping over location when it shouldn't. I will have to pass that onto the team. The game/console can cache pings/servers which is a potential reason so if you make a change, reboot the router then the console then check again, it shouldn't get outside the radius again unless its a backend bug.

@Netduma Fraser Thank you for going to pass that onto the team. And thanks for getting back to everyone. When I make any changes I’ll make sure to reboot it and see if it got any better. UPDATE: When I reboot the router it stays loading on this. Should I refresh the page or just wait it out? Also I just rebooted the router and console and no luck

@Netduma FraserI rebooted it and made sure it didn’t connect to another WiFi and reset my ps5 and so far it seemed to be finding the server I’ve been trying to connect to. It still made me connect to a different server though. But if I make any changes in the game mwIII will I always have to reboot the router and reset my ps5? Or just close the app and start it back up?

It must be a bug or error because it happens to me too. I have done all the instructions and nothing. I will wait for the next updates. What is happening is that the router is looking outside the circle looking for a better server and that causes it to connect to servers that For the router it is better and when you enter the games the latency is higher than the server, for example when it connects to the server I see the graph in 40ms and in the game 150ms that's all

@Netduma Fraser Good to know. Sorry for all these questions. But if I’d like to add another device to the geo filter a simple restart of the app would be fine or the console?

One last thing. Just so I’m getting it right. Because everything is going fine as of now. But anything I want to change on the Netduma website I restart the (console). Anything I want to change on the game (reboot) the game?

@emma787 Are you playing mwIII? If so it helped me when I enabled crossplay and adding more game modes to my playlist. Before I would only have Kill Confirmed selected. Now I added two more game modes and I can find a game sorta faster now. It’s probably just my own little theory. Rebooting my router also helped a bunch

It's likely the console caching everything, so the above should help but the team will be looking into it regardless.

I would recommend it yes.

Any Geo-Filter settings you want to change when you're already on the game I would suggest either rebooting the game or console

@Netduma Fraser Fantastic, got it. Do you have any tips on when to…

Factory reset =

Reboot =

Lets say my Ethernet cable gets disconnected, would a reboot do fine

Or Factory reset

A reboot would fix most issues, a factory reset should be done if persistent settings changes aren't resulting in expected behavior and a reboot isn't helping
