Geo-Filter not working - R3

  • Disable GeoLatency
  • Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0)
  • Enable Strict Mode
  • Disable Fast Search

Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then.

I followed the steps you've mentioned but seems like i still have issues.  Its not searching the games with specified ping/radius.

Sorr if this is a stupid question. The whole point is to restrict the Geo-location so I get low ping lobbies. May I know why you are suggesting to switch of GeoLatency. I'm a bit lost.

I had the same problem while playing COD. Did the following:

  • Disable GeoLatency
  • Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0)
  • Enable Strict Mode
  • Disable Fast Search

And still had the same issues of connecting to servers I had geo-filtered to be "off." Only way I got it to actually work was to go into the Geo-Filter Tab, then I fired up the game. At that point, the Geo Filter Tab showed all of the servers available to connect to. I then single handedly went to each of the servers I could see and clicked on them then told the router to deny connection.... one by one until only the two servers that were suitable to connect to were available. I think at this point, I could delete my custom geo filter and it would probably still work BUT I shouldn't have to do all that, right? Isn't that the point of having a custom filter, so that you don't have to deny servers connections?

I've sent you the .23 firmware via PM, see if that helps at all. Geo-Latency is a filtering method just like using the radius/polygon so you're just switching the way you're filtering, getting low ping servers is still possible.

No you shouldn't need to do that, what firmware version are you on?

The version it shipped with which is v4.0.20. I could be blind but I'm not seeing a setting where I can check if the firmware is up to date?

I've sent you .23 via PM, you can upgrade from Settings > Troubleshooting, once complete I'd recommend doing a factory reset

Tried the new firmware and it looks like some servers are still getting through the geo-filter but if I disable them, it doesn't connect to them. Not sure why they're getting through the custom geo-fence but just an FYI that they are.

Thanks for the feedback, more Geo-Filter improvements will be on the way
