Dreaded moderate NAT

Recommended Posts

Sorry to post ladies and gents but I can't not get nat open no matter what I try on the R3. R2 worked perfectly. Have a G3100 fios gigabit router set in dmz to the R3. Have my PC set to DMZ in the R3 router. Tried port forwarding prior to that obviously. Verizon is not a CG-NAT company. Other than that great router so far another great purchase!!

by the way its wired, i never connect my ps5 to wifi it always wired

You should be able to get an open Nat. If you haven’t in your ISP modem assign the r2 with a static IP address and then DMZ it again. When I first got my R3 Wan IP changed address and that was my problem. Just check your R3 MAC address is correct and you should be okay.

I got NAT 2 in my end never gets NAT 1 ever since, and where can I see that MAC address of my Netduma...

I'd remove the PC from the DMZ, it's basically open to the internet so a major security risk. Good advice from Dogg on this. It shouldn't matter but some routers are different, disable UPnP, port forwarding, QoS, any other features on the G3 that could be affecting the traffic.

NAT Type 2 is open, Type 1 means you're connected to a modem and isn't possible to achieve behind a router

Not that's great in some rare cases the mac address of the R3 can change that's why I said just to check but you should be all good then.
