cedric108
Hello Netduma Team, I've been using the GeoFilter settings you recommended on my R3 for the past two weeks (GeoLatency disabled, Ping Assist disabled, Strict Mode enabled, Fast Search disabled), and it has worked perfectly for COD. Thanks for providing this fantastic tool. Now, my Japanese friend can finally enjoy the game with me from Europe when I set the GeoFilter to the US. However, starting yesterday (December 30, 2023), I've encountered an issue where a mysterious server located in London is not being denied and consistently appears outside my GeoFilter circle. Normally, it seems like the game recognizes my "virtual" location set by the GeoFilter. For example, if I set it to Spain, the game automatically starts searching for games with a ping of less than 63ms (Madrid server). Similarly, when set to the Center US, the game prioritizes lobbies with less than 138ms ping (Chicago server). However, with this London server slipping through the filter, the game always looks for lobbies with less than 42ms ping first, which disrupts the functionality of the GeoFilter. I have already rebooted the router, my PC, and the game multiple times, but the issue still persists. Any advice on how to address this recent issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and Happy New Year in advance! ps. Blocking this London server doesn't resolve the issue as a new one in proximity consistently emerges. Does having an authentication server outside the circle also disrupts GeoFilter on your side? emma787
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 1 Administrators Share Posted January 1 As above, it's for authentication and required for online play. It should not affect your ability to filter at all. What firmware version are you on currently?

Ooo_Thats_why
Same issue for me, but with a French server. So the auth server that is connecting is outside of the set geo-filter, but once you get in a lobby it does not update in the UI of the geo-filter it remains the same auth server. It has been driving me insane trying to figure out what is happening. i'm guessing this is going to get sorted in a future firmware release. The auth server in most cases stays in the exact same position so may be outside your Geo-Filter but does not impact your ping. You should see a server within your radius

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 1 Administrators Share Posted January 1 Disable GeoLatency Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0) Enable Strict Mode Disable Fast Search Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game). If that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console and it should work then.

Still the same issue

Actually, everything is working fine today (no setting change, no reboot). It seems that if the authentication server is displayed on the GeoFilter map, the issue may occur, but if it's not explicitly displayed (which is usually the case), everything works as expected. I am going to keep monitoring the situation. Netduma Fraser

M4nny
I'm experiencing the same issue with my R2... I've tried resetting the router and also completing the steps @Netduma Fraser has mentioned multiple times but it seems to be an issue with the authenticator UK server somehow bypassing the geofilter. Probably best to make a new topic, could be a completely different issue, please provide a screenshot of the Geo-Filter showing what you see when that happens

Try this Quit the application/game/client completely Remove device from the Geo-Filter Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager (if on PC) Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter with the manual option Set up the Geo-Filter how you like Wait 2 minutes Boot up application/game/client Then see if it works. Tried that multiple times but unfortunately it doesn't work, it's strange as sometimes I can search and it puts me in the saudi lobby straight away but other times I keep getting pushed into lobbies near me
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 12 Administrators Share Posted January 12 The screenshot above, were you actually in a game and it appeared to be that blocked icon? Was there anything else on the map if you zoom out that appeared to be allowed?
cedric108
I noticed that someone has revisited this topic. I want to share some new findings. I experienced this issue once again one week ago. It seems to be time-based. It occurred after 7 pm CET, and although I don't remember which day of the week, everything started working again after midnight, between 12 am and 1 am CET. 99% of the time, the authentication server is not explicitly displayed on the geo-filter map. However, if it is explicitly shown, it typically happens within a specific timeframe, disrupting the geo-filter.
