Just a few questions

I received my R3 yesterday, and so far I am quite impressed. We are on Starlink so that is what it is, and outside of transitioning between satellite constellations I am by far more pleased with its performance in comparison to the XR1000. The only possible edge I might give to the XR is its wifi broadcast range but that is somewhat of a moot point with how sporadically it worked. With that being said, I do have a couple/few questions and my apologies in advance if these have been asked and answered in prior topics.

In gaming, I have a moderate Nat. The Starlink is in bypass mode, is port forwarding my only option to open it up? The XR had that toggle under WAN options, I want to be sure that I am not missing it somewhere.

Ping Optimiser, when left to its own devices, is that a dynamic service that adjusts on the fly as needed unless I fiddle with the CC manually?

Last question, pertaining to WiFi, are there options that would allow for mu-mimo, turning AX on/off etc.? WiFi is working well, the XR had constant issues with the WiFi and I again want to be sure that I am not missing anything in case one of our devices starts acting up.

Thank you for any and all help as well as for your time, and thank you for all that you do!

Hello, welcome to the forum!

Glad you're impressed with it, to answer your questions:

  1. Yes likely you'll need to port forward, it doesn't have that toggle option you're referring to though I've mentioned it to the team to potentially be added
  2. It's not dynamic in that it will do tests frequently and adjust Congestion Control - as the test disconnects you from the internet it's best not to have it do that. Otherwise yes CC won't change once you've accepted the Optimizer results unless you redo the test or change them manually.
  3. No those options aren't available but it has been requested so may be added in future

Thank you, Happy Holidays!

Okay, got it!

May I ask for some clarification on port forwarding? This is a subject that i am mot well versed in, and i do not feel that i understand what the R3 is looking for due to my ignorance. If for example, the games ports are:

TCP / UDP

3074, 27015, 27036 3074, 27015, 27031-27036

The R3 is asking for "Source" Begin/End and "Destination" Begin/End. How does what the R3 need correlate to the port information provided? Ultimately, at the core of my question is that i dont understand the Source vs Destination aspect relative to the port information.
