Hi,

can some one test for me this:

https://github.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists#ultimate

The File:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists/main/domains/ultimate.txt

The XR500 can only the Multi Normal List.
Thank you 😀

You can Test it on:

1. https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html

2. https://canyoublockit.com/
3. https://adblock-tester.com/

The issue is the file is too big so the router won't accept it, or it will accept it and crash and then won't work. Best to keep the files under 20MB maximum but as small as possible would be best. You can then do multiple and it should work better.

it is impossible to add any of those. it either crashes or says the one of the domains is not valid and then good luck finding it... so yeah, forget it.

Not the Ultimate List.

The Normal List:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists/main/domains/multi.txt

19.091kb and it filter good 🙂
I have follow your tip, and multiple Lists on my XR500

But your are right, if the List ist too big.
The Adblock crash and only a cold boot help it and after the cold boot it needs a lot of time to fully load the ad block.

The little man in the Router type the Firewall rules by Hand 🙂

The smart tv one adds but the multi one is too big, I'll need to ask the team what the limit on the size is, will be easier that way

you can add it with only http:// for https:// i have the same isue

Hello,

@Netduma Fraser

Do you have any feedback from the team? How big can the list be or is it on the todo list?
Thank you.

Yes had a dev check and there is no limit on the front or backend so it is likely the below, an issue with HTTPS links, HTTP works. I've marked it as a bug for the team to fix.

Great catch, I can reproduce this as well so seems to be an issue with HTTPS rather than file size, great to know!

@Netduma Fraser

Your lists do not block YouTube advertising on smart TVs. Do I need to restart the router after adding the list? Or just deactivate and reactivate the device in adblocker? Https doesn't read the list while if I use http it stores the list. Is it a bug?
