...my friend partied up with me a few times and it played so smooth he ordered one.He came over today and i was showing him the router and explaining the features to me and he asked me how was the security on it.He was talking about not having a sign in out the router and asked what was to keep people from accessing your network thru the wifi.Since it has no log in or password and i didn't have an answer for him ,but told him i could get one.So boys what's to keep a neighbor from being on your wifi ?

And the second question was say my nephew comes over to my house and wants to use my wifi on his tablet, how would i go about doing that on the duma ?

Fuzzy neighbours couldn't access the router details as they wouldn't be on the wi-fi network without the passkey. The actual network is secured but the router hub is not just now.

I believe that adding a password to access the router hub is scheduled to be included in an update soon (it may even be in .7).

For your nephew it is just like adding any device to the network. He would scan the available wi-fi, locate the Netduma and then input the wireless network key to gain access (which you would need to give him).

Hope that helps

Full story:

1. Router login is currently missing, but since the router is using http instead of https (i can use https) this really doesn't matter.

1.1 with it being http if there was a password it would be sent over plaintext so anyone in the network would be able to get the password and username.

1.2 The login username and password are coming soon, https could easily also be added.

2. To get to the router you have to be on the network.

2.1 This means you have to be wired into the router or connected via wireless

2.2 I doubt any network is secure once the attacker is on the network so let's rule out wired connections

2.3 So this leads us to wireless, hacking WPA and WPA2 is not easy to do...but they both are hackable, it just takes time and you have to be near the wireless network

2.3.1 So really this means this router is as secure as any and all routers with WIFI turned on running WPA or WPA2
