Best router with geo filter and hybrid VPN

Recently bough a Netgear XR1000 and was disappointed to find out it doesn't have and won't soon be getting the Hybrid VPN feature. I'm looking for opinions on what the best option is for a router with both the Hybrid VPN (using NordVPN) and Geofilter as features (geo filter for gaming, hybrid VPN for streaming shows from other counties). Currently looking at the R2 or XR500, but curious what everyone's experiences are what what they would recommend.

Both work well with HVPN!

The difference is mainly at the hardware level ... and especially at the level of the fact that the R2 is a product exclusively designed by Netduma and that the XR series is a hybrid with netgear !

Personally I have 2, the XR500 serves me as a WIFI access point and the R2 as a router mainly wired.

Concretely, if you want to favor wifi for your gaming peripherals, the XR500 will be more efficient for speeds, I think!

What one would you say has the better hardware overall? My use will be primarily for wired gaming and secondary for wireless video steaming from select devices. For everything else I have a mesh network that I don't plan to replace.

I don't want to influence you, I use the R2 because I haven't used the XR500 for 3 years (I haven't tested its latest FW in beta).

But I can confirm that the HVPN works on both !

You can wait for other opinions, make your choice or wait a few more months for something new!
