Sara Yuuki
I feel this feature would be most useful, with the upcoming 3.3 release, for normal users, this would not only allow WOL To be a thing and a main part of the routers operating system, but it would essentially allow you to wake up a system over the internet,
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 8, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 8, 2022 Thanks for the suggestion, I will add it to our list!
Sara Yuuki
The problem is. Since if a pc is off. The network (router will know it’s off and then clear it’s cache. So even though the port is open and the magic packet can be sent. The router won’t remember the MAC address because the cache was cleared. I did a test and the cache cleared in 2 minutes. When I tried to WoW my computer using my 5g (wan, internet) it didn’t turn on. So it’s lead to believe it is the hidden arp cache, it would be good if telnet could be added so that we can add those entries ourselves. We shouldn’t be barred from the router. We understand it’s more of a security risk doing it but for advanced tech savvy people it would be so much beneficial. I would like to see connecting to the busy box server on the router be added in the future. For now. Can I use a mitm (router) to do the arp for me? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 8, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 8, 2022 Don't think we would be allowing telnet anytime soon, there is a lot of proprietary tech in DumaOS, at some point we may have a very advanced options menu but that would be a ways off. I don't see why that couldn't work.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 12, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 12, 2022 Could you make sure your R2 is accessible, so in DMZ of modem/router, remote support in WAN Settings, then PM me & @Netduma Liam with the ARP entries you want and we can see if the team can do that for you Mercenary
