cant download 3.2 to xr1000! help needed

Hey, welcome to the forum!

What firmware file are you trying to download specifically? When you download the file from the Netgear site it comes in a zip file, you'll need to unzip it on the PC, then put the .chk file on your Desktop for example and use that to upgrade. 3.2 is not yet available.
