GiorgosTT
As the title implies, addblocker is not working at all on this device, but it's perfectly fine on every other device. Any idea why is this happening?
GiorgosTT
I'm running the latest version and I've factory reseted the router.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 22, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 22, 2022 What is it you're trying to block exactly? Does the device appear to be paused on the Adblocker page?
GiorgosTT
I'm trying to block ads, like Google ads popping up in the middle of web pages. The ad blocker is running on the device. It used to work until a while ago, it suddenly stopped from working.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 23, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 23, 2022 When it stopped working did the phone do an update by any chance to a newer version of Android?
GiorgosTT
No and that's the most weird in the whole case.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 24, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 24, 2022 Open Settings on the phone, then go to Network and Internet, next to the R2 WiFi, tap Settings scroll down and disable 'Randomised MAC address'. Then on the router in LAN Settings give the phone a reserved IP address, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes before accessing/using the internet then check to see if it's blocking ads. GiorgosTT
There is no options regarding the phone's MAC address. It's not changing. I gave a reserved IP address but nothing happened. Still not working.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 24, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 24, 2022 It doesn't really make sense to not work on one device if it isn't paused, the feature is either working or doesn't so it must be more on the phone end, are you using a different web browser on the phone - is it connecting to data instead of the WiFi etc
GiorgosTT
I haven't changed anything. Let me try and disable some options like Volte or VoWiFi and try again.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 25, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 25, 2022 Keep us posted! What are those options as well - they sound like specific Xiaomi features?
