Calum94
Hi all, Previously I had issues with my XR300, where my speeds were very slow. Thanks to help on these forums, I managed to sort the issue. However, since then I have noticed that my 2.4GHz channel has much lower speeds than my 5GHz channel. For example, I ran speed tests today on my phone and got 367Mbps on 5GHz and then 51Mbps on 2.4GHz (it can sometimes drop much lower than this and also drop out completely on some devices). Is it possible that I have messed up a setting when trying to fix my previous issue? I would like to increase the speeds on the 2.4GHz channel if possible. Most of my devices use the 5GHz, so the speeds are fine on those. But the odd few are limited to using the 2.4GHz, meaning tv shows etc can buffer for quite a while before downloading. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 5, 2022 Administrators Share Posted June 5, 2022 2.4GHz will be slower, it will also depend on the devices themselves as well, try these suggestions: Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proxity ~3 feet if possible Set the antennae to this position _ | | _
