Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 31, 2022 Administrators Share Posted May 31, 2022 I believe we determined that was due to PPPoE, do you still have the XR handling this? Also Traffic Prioritization may be skewing the test results as it's prioritizing and therefore may prioritize the speed
Rickyrocks
yea i have turned traffic prioritization off and my modem is one that you cant access so whatever needs to be done can only be done through the XR.
Rickyrocks
I can't access my modem as its not got any software its a gfast open reach modem that just has a reset button
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 31, 2022 Administrators Share Posted May 31, 2022 Do you have another router that you could use to handle PPPoE instead of the XR?
Rickyrocks
yes i do i can use the d7000 as modem mode i guess
Rickyrocks
actually dnt think that's dsl
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 31, 2022 Administrators Share Posted May 31, 2022 If you could put that in router mode handling PPPoE and connect the XR do that using DHCP it should work. If the D7000 is a modem/router it should be able to connect to your box just fine
Rickyrocks
surly that will cause double nat.
Rickyrocks
So if i put my modem router into modem mode it should be fine? or do i have to go router mode maybe modems cant do the PPPoE so i guess it has to be a modem router in order for it to work in modem mode am i right in thinking Fraser sorry a bit upset here you going to have to forgive my mood. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 2, 2022 Administrators Share Posted June 2, 2022 If you put it in modem mode then the XR would have to handle PPPoE, you can put the WAN IP from the XR System Information page into the other router DMZ and that would allow you to have an Open NAT.
