For gaming, should I use a Netduma-style router or a Powerline adapter?

I pay for gigabit internet, but because I live in a rented townhouse, I can't run a wire through the walls or up the stairs because my fiancé won't let me. So I was seeking for the best way to achieve the fastest gaming speeds. At the moment, I'm using a power line adapter and receiving 70 download and 60 upload, which is better than most, but I'm paying for a gig, so it would be wonderful if the router, a good one, could give me more. I wasn't sure whether I'd notice much of a difference.

Welcome to the forum!

If you're unable to run a long cable, my suggestion would be to have a DumaOS powered router connected to the modem, then have all devices including the PLAs connected to the DumaOS router.

That being said, with your current setup, I would think you could expect a little more than 70mb through the PLAs. It may be that the cables you're using are below CAT5e and therefore won't be able to provide the full speeds.
