Geo filter

Hi guys, just bought the xr1000 and set it up. Was sceptic and to be honest it doesn’t work at all. Have the same ping like before. And If I set my home location into the Atlantic Ocean my ps5 finds games in cod even faster. So my question why can’t it find server in the middle of the ocean? It means the geo filter doesn’t work right ? Cause when I set it to Berlin Germany I can’t feel any difference. Thanks a lot for your help.

If you had no local congestion and you were connecting to a local server prior to getting the router then your ping wouldn't necessarily be lower but it would allow you to have a more consistent connection. You likely have Ping Assist enabled which is why you were able to get games outside your radius/when you had your location in the ocean. Do this to ensure you're getting the closest server:

1. Quit the game back to console dashboard
2. Remove device from the Geo-Filter
3. Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu
4. Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter with the manual option
5. Set up the Geo-Filter how you like but with Ping Assist set to 0
6. Wait 2 minutes
7. Boot up game
