XR500 or R1

hi all went out bought the xr500 i had the R1 before good little router apart from the wifi. my gaming was better on the R1  than the xr500 shall i return it and stick with the R1

That's only a decision you can make really - do you have speeds where you would benefit from the XR? You could always put it in AP mode and use it for WiFi while still using the R1 as the main router - any devices connected to the XR in AP mode will appear on the R1 and can be controlled by it.
