Calum94
Hi all, I've been having issues when playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Vanguard and Warzone. Most of the time my latency is between 15 - 25 ms which is great. However, every so often I get really bad latency/ lag where it shoots up to 500+ ms. I have a wired connection straight from my XR300 router to my pc. I run speed tests on my second monitor while I experience the lag in game, yet my speeds and ping are absolutely fine. I get 5ms ping and high 370+ Mbps. I did notice though that my NAT type is always either moderate or strict. Could this be causing me to lag? I tried port forwarding to get open NAT type but it didn't work Cheers, Calum
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 3, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 3, 2021 The ping on the speed test is just the ping to the speed test so won't necessarily reflect what you're seeing in game but it does indicate it could be a game issue, perhaps the server is under load at that moment, the NAT type won't really affect the connection quality. Calum94
It only affects me when I'm playing with my friends, which is the weird thing though. But yeah there have been server issues with these games recently
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 4, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 4, 2021 It will be harder to find a game with 2, 3, 4 etc open slots on the same team and try to balance skill and connection that it would for just one person going in so they may put you in less desirable games because of it. When playing with friends you be the party leader then try to force a server that is in between you all so you all get a decent ping and see if that helps
