Aceu Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 I am not too sure on why my Ping Test under load is ranking as a D. The rest are fine, but the only problem is the Ping Test under load. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 27, 2021 Administrators Posted November 27, 2021 We're still improving the reporting of the results on the Benchmark for the XR routers so you can take it with a pinch of salt, it definitely won't be that bad. I would recommend following this guide while saturating your connection with downloads, streams etc and trying different Congestion Control percentages to see what makes the graph as stable as possible on PingPlotter http://support.netduma.com/en/support/solutions/articles/16000074717-how-to-test-your-internet-ping
Aceu Posted November 27, 2021 Author Posted November 27, 2021 @Netduma Fraser Okay thank you! I also have another question. When I play games, such as cod or apex I get really high ping and I am not sure why. I set both the congestion control to 70%, however, it didn't make much if a difference on the ping. I than set both to 85-90% and still was getting high ping. I tried using geo-filter, however, it barely helped on the ping. I used to get 30-40 ping without geo filter, but all of a sudden my ping went high and its been like that for almost a week. Any help would be appreciated, I am just kinda tired playing on high ping.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 27, 2021 Administrators Posted November 27, 2021 How high is the ping currently? On Apex for example, on the menu when you see the servers do they show a high ping even on the closest ones?
Aceu Posted November 27, 2021 Author Posted November 27, 2021 @Netduma Fraser On apex, the ping shows on 50-80, even on the closest ones. Before it wasn't like that, I used to get 30-40 ping. Now I am just getting high ping on all games, I even tried rebooting my router and modem but still joining high ping lobbies.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 27, 2021 Administrators Posted November 27, 2021 If you connect directly to the modem are you still seeing that same high ping?
Aceu Posted November 27, 2021 Author Posted November 27, 2021 @Netduma Fraser I am not sure if I can connect it directly to the modem, I don't have a laptop for it.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 27, 2021 Administrators Posted November 27, 2021 What is your modem model? Where abouts are you located? When did the servers start to ping higher - was it after changing settings, rebooting, something changing in the physical setup etc?
Aceu Posted November 27, 2021 Author Posted November 27, 2021 @Netduma Fraser Modem model is EU2251 and it's from Spectrum. Located at palmdale and the servers started to ping higher about a week ago. I am not sure if I changed any settings, I believe I changed something from the Internent setup.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 27, 2021 Administrators Posted November 27, 2021 You should have quite a good ping given your location, if you think you changed something but not sure what then go back and see if you can find what was changed or do a factory reset to start from scratch and see if the ping goes back down.
