Pentol
Hello guys, i have a problem with a high ping. If I move the slider (download) to 1%, the test is A + a Do you have any solutions ? I did it many things, reboot modem/router, new driver, factory reset neduma, switched off qos and etc. EDIT: I did firmware reinstall but no changes. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 28, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2021 As your speeds are quite high it's unlikely your connection will be under load very often and therefore you won't experience that high a ping. I recommend you start at 95%, do a benchmark test, see the results, reduce by 10, test again. Rinse repeat until you get to a value where it's decreased significantly, then try 5% either side of that value to see if you can get it down anymore. Is that a game server you used for PingPlotter? If so they don't respond to normal pings which is why the results are so bad.

I think problem is with ISP not with Netduma. Because now it`s look ok, slider is 90% both. Server for Ping|Ploter is Vodafone.ie and other one Amazon.ie
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 28, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2021 That's not too bad, it's very unlikely you'll experience that though as your speeds are quite high

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 28, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2021 Have you gone down in 10% increments to see if you get a similar result to 1%?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 28, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2021 I mean, have you done 90%, 80%, 70% etc and found a value where it's better?

Yes, but sometimes it`s ok, but not now. I did lots of tests every 5% like 95/90/85 etc.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 28, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 28, 2021 The test can be influenced by the time of day and ISP congestion so it could be that if it is normal during off peak hours

Give the modem a reboot, if you haven't done so in awhile that can help - I had a similar issue today and that resolved it

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 29, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 29, 2021 I've got the same hub and I find it a bit flaky in modem mode. Take it out of modem mode and put it in router mode, then copy the WAN IP of the R2 from the System Information page, set it as static/reserved on the hub and put it in the DMZ. See if it performs better after that.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 29, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 29, 2021 Set the R2 back to the way it was, you don't need to change anything on the R2. Copy the WAN IP shown on the R2 System Information page, The IP you copied, set it as static/reserved on the Virgin hub and put it in the Virgin hub DMZ. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 29, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 29, 2021 The reserved IP section is seen in your second screenshot - judging by the picture you haven't changed the R2 WAN Settings back, once you do that it should appear in that reserved table and you can just click on it and apply

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 29, 2021 Administrators Share Posted August 29, 2021 Give the R2 a reboot from the interface, likely needs to re-establish the connection and then it should show
