Pakul
I live in Florida but for some reason it says that I live in New Jersey when I check my Geolocation in warzone. I don't use a vpn and even when I have the router off, it says im in NJ.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 16, 2021 So just to give you some context, IPs are bought and sold all the time, sometimes between countries, sometimes between states etc. So for example, my IP although it now says it is in the UK, it could have been an American IP at one point. Now doing a lookup on your IP, I'm getting 3 results for Florida and 1 for New Jersey so more than likely it used to be an IP there and CoD is using outdated IP data to determine the location. Not to worry though, it shouldn't affect your game experience at all.
jake40
There was a Warzone update on friday and RavenSoftware said they banned 30,000 hackers. But I also noticed that my geolocation changed. I think they updated something with IP addresses but I don't know. I use to have the same geolocation since the game came out and now I have a new one. Is there any way to get my old geolocation back or somehow make CoD use updated IP data? I also use a VPN sometimes and I noticed a bunch of warzone geolocations on different VPN servers have changed so they definitely did something last week. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted May 16, 2021 No there is nothing you can do really - in theory if you have a dynamic IP then turning off the modem for 10 minutes will give you a new IP and potentially they may have that one correctly categorized but I wouldn't worry about it, it won't impact your game ping
