NetDumaR2User Posted February 21, 2021 Posted February 21, 2021 I am getting packet loss to a particular IP address. The host says it is issues with my ISP. My ISP said that changing my DNS settings to "Automatic" will fix this. This is my current DNS settings Will unticking the red bar, and then selecting "Use Upstream DNS" set this to automatic?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 21, 2021 Administrators Posted February 21, 2021 Selecting Use Upstream DNS will make the router/devices use whatever the DNS is that is set by your ISP.

Does your isp need the same dns server as netduma? My isp dns server isn’t google but has quite a different dns number.

If you're using a pure modem, setting it on the router is fine, if you're using an ISP router as well then it would be best to set this on that as well
