Jake993
Hi, so all my default is at 2. If I want to give something more speed or bandwidth, should I increase it to a higher number @4 lower it? How does this work?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 15, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 15, 2021 Sorry, could you clarify what you're referring to please? The title mentions Bandwidth Allocation and the Geo-Filter - if you're referring to Bandwidth Allocation, the lower the number the lower the amount of bandwidth that you have allocated it. Really though as share excess will be enabled by default (any unused bandwidth will be given to devices that need it - even if their allocation is low) it shouldn't matter what you set it as. Jake993
So if everything is 2 and I set it to 8 for my Xbox, will that not do anything?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 16, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 16, 2021 It means your Xbox will get 8% bandwidth if it needs it but gaming uses very little bandwidth anyway. For a better gaming experience Congestion Control and Traffic Prioritization should be used more than Bandwidth Allocation.
