Bufferbloat and allocation within QOS

Hi All

quick question,  so you establish your best DL/UP settings to ensure smooth ping under load and Set your sliders .  With regards to the allocation for the xbox that will obviously be different as the total allocation is shared with all the devices so would that not negate the benefits of the  the sliders ?  Also if the share boxes are unchecked to throttle for Xbox would that have a negative impact ?   Would it not be best to input the the slider numbers into your xbox share allocation and have the sliders at 95% or similar  ?  Maybe I am overthinking this !!

Thanks

Congestion Control specifically helps with ensuring that devices don't saturate the connection by keeping a reserve that they can't use. Bandwidth Allocation just allocates bandwidth - it's still dividing up the bandwidth and therefore still subject to devices saturating the network. Let likely which share excess disabled that's true depending on the amount of devices you have. I would always suggest using CC and actually rarely suggest people use BA unless they need it for a specific purpose. Experiment though, you may find something that works better for you.
