how to setup - netduma R2 connecting to telstra netgear V7610

R2 netduma has been working fine for past few months on our internet connection on an older modem.

Telstra technician has installed a new modem Netgear V7610 to work with NBN.  Told me the dhcp must run from the telstra netgear modem and has turned off dhcp in the netduma os.

He has the ethernet cable from the modem to the netduma R2  plugged in to one of the 4 gigabit ethernet ports and not the internet port.  It seems more like a switch now and nothing is working on the DUMA OS , yet internet is working.

When plugging directly from the modem into the internet port on the netduma no internet activity is possible, he couldn't get it working.  Turning dhcp on or off on the netduma R2 doesn't help.

I assume the telstra netgear modem needs settings modified.  Can anyone help with this?

Welcome to the forum!

That's interesting, unfortunately I can't really advise on the Telstra settings but I will do my best to help you with the R2 side of things.

The first step is as you said, to connect the two via the WAN port on the R2. I'd then suggest turning off the R2, rebooting the Telstra router, waiting a few minutes then turning the R2 back on.

From here, can you tell me what IP address your PC gets from the R2?
