Lewisprotips
As per title. I used to get the same ping as my friend. Now on certain servers he's still on say 180 and it puts me on 250. Ingame ping. I think I might of changed my net duma settings somewhere but unsure what I did. What would the recommended course of action be? A factory reset? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 24, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 24, 2021 That ping is really high regardless, where are you based and what servers are you playing on? What does the Geo-Filter ping say? Are you using QoS?
Lewisprotips
Yeah I know the ping is high. I get 10ms on duma OS I'm from UK and playing on South Africa. Have been doing it for a while with same ping as my friend and no gone up. And yeah I'm using Qos on auto enable with 95% going to my PC
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 24, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 24, 2021 It's kind of hard to determine why that would be when the ping is so high. If you haven't changed anything on your side and your friend has the same ping as always then it might be your routing to SA has changed - are you using different internet providers? Wierd ping is back to normal now. Also while I'm here. I have a mesh system plugged into the lan port on the router as my house is quite large. But devices seem to now lose connection or stop working. I'm assuming this is something to do with congestion control? Is there an optimized setting so I can game and people still have access to devices as well?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 24, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 24, 2021 Great! Do devices directly connected to the router either wired or WiFi experience the drops? Depending on the system you could give them a reserved IP address in DHCP settings as that may resolve it. What are you expected/paid speeds? Lewisprotips
The mesh system is a WiFi booster type thing. No devices are connected wired all wireless. Apart from the mesh system. Like now my phone is connected to the mesh and fine but we have tvs, ipads etc the regularly now use connection and stop working. I thought it might of been all the speeds were going to my PC which is connected to the router with a ethenet cable. My speeds are 430mbs and 40 upload
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 24, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 24, 2021 Are the devices appearing as though they were directly connected to the router in the device manager? What router are you using as well and on what firmware?
