Modem to use with XR500

I currently have ADSL internet, 20Mpbs/2Mbps. There's no cable modems here in Italy, just Modem-Routers so I will need to enable bridge mode.
What should I be looking for regarding the Modem specs and standards? Does the XR500 need something in particular from the modem in order to work properly?

Absolutely not, you can use it with your existing modem/router and it will be fine - that will only serve to pass through the data to the XR so you don't really need to replace it with anything else.
