how to get player on differnt platform to show up on geo filter to alow him

as per title. my freind has a xr300 on xbox and i have a r2 on ps5. having trouble joinging each other. i cant work out how to get him to appear on my map. when im doing it playstation to playstation i just start a chat party invite them then they appear. obviously this method cant be done with cross platform

We've had a recent report on this that they don't appear on the map using cross compatibility but actually you should be fine to connect to each other. If you disable Filtering Mode does that allow you to connect?

yes it does. but only when we both do it

Ah you're both using it okay, disable filtering mode and join each other, enable it, wait 2 minutes and then search for a game. I will pass it onto the team to have a look at.
