PyroPlazma
To clarify the Ethernet works fine as I'm writing to you all from my computer connected via ethernet. But even though my other devices appear to connect to the wifi just fine. Internet never actually works. The only thing that worked was changing from Router mode to Access Point mode. Obviously doing so removes all of the main features of the router in the first place. I am reaching out to this forum per suggestion from this reddit thread from @Newfie This is my ISP I live in an apartment where the ISP has a modem/switch built into the wall. Which in turn goes to a single ethernet port in the apartment (the one I'm currently connected too).
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 14, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 14, 2020 Hey, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you're having this issue. In WiFi Settings disable Smart Connect and connect devices to 2.4/5GHz manually, does it work then?

PyroPlazma
Attached is my ISP setup within my apartment. Note this was pre-setup by the ISP and I have no part in managing this.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 14, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 14, 2020 What is the IP address of the device connected via ethernet to the XR? Does that service the entire building or just your apartment? If the former, I assume it uses a switch to provide a cable to each of the apartments that comes out of the wall directly? Featured Comment PyroPlazma Posted November 15, 2020 Author Featured Comment Share Posted November 15, 2020 Looks like I found the source of the problem. The issue all along was my AVAST OMNI hub killing my wifi which apparently is a known issue for some routers. Setting it up and leaving it unplugged from the router has thus far remedied all issues. Thank you for all of your help regardless and I'm just relieved I won't have to return this thing after all.
