Just bought XR500 Wifi is not working

Recommended Posts

To clarify the Ethernet works fine as I'm writing to you all from my computer connected via ethernet. But even though my other devices appear to connect to the wifi just fine. Internet never actually works. The only thing that worked was changing from Router mode to Access Point mode. Obviously doing so removes all of the main features of the router in the first place.

I am reaching out to this forum per suggestion from this reddit thread from @Newfie

This is my ISP

I live in an apartment where the ISP has a modem/switch built into the wall. Which in turn goes to a single ethernet port in the apartment (the one I'm currently connected too).

Hi Pyro, good to see you joined.

can you tell us your isp name and as much detail as possible. This will help Fraser get you connected online.

equipment , fibre, the more info the better. I see you posted your isp, thanks.

I’ve a feeling @Netduma Fraser it’s not setup to connect to the isp equipment.

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. In WiFi Settings disable Smart Connect and connect devices to 2.4/5GHz manually, does it work then?

I have tried both Smart Connect on and off and neither works unfortunately.

What is the IP address of the device connected via ethernet to the XR?

Does that service the entire building or just your apartment? If the former, I assume it uses a switch to provide a cable to each of the apartments that comes out of the wall directly?

IPv4: 67.209.203.173

This modem/switch is just for my individual apartment
