Question about Geo filter and playing Valorant

Okay so here's the situation. I searched for the locations of the Valorant servers here in NA there's 4 (San Jose, Chicago, Portland, and Ashburn Virginia) so I used the polygon mode for that excluding the state where I am. I'm using filtering mode. No improvements there I noticed. My usual ping is 30 and it's still 30 even with geo-filter. But when playing with my friends from different states my ping stays at 72-78 and their ping stays at 30-40. Our ping when we're all together is always like that. What should I do?

So you're choosing the closest location then? If so then that is what the game will have been putting you on before, as there are so few servers you won't be able to get a lower ping but can keep it stable by forcing it and using QoS. When you're playing with friends become the party leader and try to force a server that is between you all so your average pings are roughly the same as each other.

Okay. So to get lower ping, how can I achieve that?

If I understand you correctly to make the geo filter work efficiently I need to be the party leader?

As above, not really possible to lower the ping as there are so few servers and they were putting you on the closest already. Use Congestion Control in Always mode and try a percentage then do the Connection Benchmark test, keep trying percentages and doing the test until you find what lowers the Ping Under Load test as much as possible. If you're playing with friends then I would suggest being the party leader yes and forcing a server that is between you all for the optimal experience for all of you.

Awesome thank you! Will do that.

Okay so they have lower ping in US West Cali 1 and 2 like 28-30 ping. And I have lower ping  US East N Virginia 2 and US Central Georgia. How should I edit my geo filter map?

This is the Valorant NA Servers that we can choose:

Just to clarify, are you actually able to select the servers you want to play on in game? Cali shows there a higher ping, are you saying on the Geo map in that location it is low?

@Netduma Fraser I'm asking where should I draw the polygon mode on the map in geo filter to achieve lower ping for all of us in Valorant. And yes we can choose which servers in the Valorant, also which servers should I choose too so we can all benefit?

I'm not confident on the locations of US states being based in the UK but what I do with my friend abroad is we say what our pings are to each server and then we pick the one that has our ping the closest. As you can pick in game you likely don't need to use the Geo but whichever you pick you can put the polygon in that server location on the map if preferred.
