fletcherjames1
I constantly get joked in games of call of duty. I play competitively so I can’t just choose low ping servers as I have to join other people’s lobby’s, or on warzone my teammates are hosting. Would the netduma help or would a nighthawk modem be a better choice?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 10, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 10, 2020 You wouldn't be able to use the Geo-Filter as you have mentioned but you will still be able to use QoS to ensure devices in your home don't cause you to lag, as well as prioritizing your game above everything else. The R2 made by us or the Nighthawk Pro Gaming range how our software on so you'll get the same benefits either way.
fletcherjames1
Thankyou, I purchased the R2. Is it possible to set it up using pppoe?

If you require a service name to use PPPoE and the public version has not been released by the time you receive it please let me know and I can provide it to you. fletcherjames1
Thankyou, Ive got the username and password from my isp. Can you use an rj11 to rj45 cable for it too, rather than using a modem?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 10, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 10, 2020 In theory you could, though not had anyone try that so far that I'm aware of. We usually recommend a modem/router, the one from your ISP would be fine if that didn't work.
fletcherjames1
Thankyou, I will give it a try. I’ll reply back on here and let you know if it worked. If not I’ll just use the bt openreach modem
fletcherjames1
I’m hoping for my netduma r2 to arrive by Tuesday. But for the mean time is there anyway to not get joked online in call of duty? I hit the first shots, don’t miss, but still get killed. I have my PS4 wired straight into a modem, so it’s the only thing on the bandwith.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 11, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 11, 2020 If you're connected straight to the modem then there isn't any settings you could change on the modem and would be no local congestion.
fletcherjames1
Will the netduma help my issue? It’s just impossible to play a game when I don’t get the kills I’m supposed to get.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 11, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 11, 2020 Yes as you'll be able to force different servers and find the ones that work best to use, as well as when other devices are connected you can prevent them causing you to lag.
