SendNukes
I have a terrible fluctuating upload speed issue that my isp apparently can't resolve. I'm thinking if I can use qos and set my upload speed to minimum required, then it may not even fluctuate lower than minimum recommended and it may be stable. What is minimum up/down Xbox live says 3/ .
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 7, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 7, 2020 What is your upload speed and what are the fluctuations? In theory as long as your ping is fine then the fluctuating speeds don't matter too much. Gaming doesn't require a lot, no more than 1Mbps in most cases but usually a lot less. SendNukes
I assumed that because my uploads fluctuate so much, that it affected my ping as well. My plan offers 35mbps upload My upload is anywhere from 1mbps to 35 mbps at any given time. My ping to the servers are usually good on paper , but it spikes so often, I can barely play
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 8, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 8, 2020 No I don't think that will be the case but do a speedtest when it's normal and when it has slowed right down, is the ping the same? You will need to fine tune Congestion Control to eliminate the spikes then.
