-Siddhu-
Hi, I noticed my download speed was stuck at 1.4 MB/s while downloading the latest update for Call of Duty Modern Warfare. I initially thought the speed was throttled by battle.net. Now I tried downloading RDR2 and I still have the same issue. My speedtest result is good but every download is slow. I tried torrenting, downloading from google drive. I tried changing the QoS settings and I finally factory reset the router but the issue is still present. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 2, 2020 If you disable QoS fully in the Congestion Control 3 line option menu in the top left of the panel and then attempt a download, what do you get? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 2, 2020 What is your exact physical setup? What is the router connected to? Are ALL devices connected to the R2?
-Siddhu-
I have my ISP modem is in bridge mode and I setup PPPoE in the R2. all devices are connected to the R2. Only my PC is connected via ethernet, all other devices use wifi.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 2, 2020 If you take the ISP hub out of bridge mode, remove the PPPoE details from the R2 and then try downloading, is it faster?
-Siddhu-
I removed the isp router from bridge mode but the speed still capped at 12 mbps. I connected my PC directly to the ISP modem to check and the speed is around 90 mbps.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 2, 2020 Put the R2 in the Hub DMZ. Also check to see if there are any firewall settings on the hub, if so please disable those and then check the speed again.
-Siddhu-
I did a bunch of reboots and put the ISP Hub back to bridge mode and the speed randomly went back to normal. I am not sure what was causing the issue. I'll let you know if the issue returns. thanks. Update: problem returned

Bacon
Did you try plugging the ethernet cable into another port? Someone previously said they had issues with port 2.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 3, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 3, 2020 Have you got any ethernet cables you can try that you haven't used already?
-Siddhu-
Yeah, I tried using another Ethernet cable. I don't think the cable is the issue, I get 100mbps when I connect my pc directly to the ISP Hub.
-Siddhu-
@Netduma Fraser any other suggestions? I have attached a pic showing the 1gbps speed with the r2. I don't think the cable is the issue. Please help, I spent hours trying to solve this.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 4, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 4, 2020 As an experiment make a Traffic Prioritization rule for the PC: Source: 1 - 65535 Destination: 1 - 65535 Protocol: TCP/UDP Do you get higher download speeds then? -Siddhu-
I tried this and the ethernet speed is still stuck at 12mbps. I tried few combinations to find out what is causing the problem. USB-C adapter is giving me 200mpbs ISP hub to PC via ethernet - 100mbps download ISP hub bridged to my old d-link router to PC via ethernet - 100mbps download ISP hub bridged to R2 to PC via wifi - 200mbps ISP hub bridged to R2 to PC via ethernet - 12 mbps download ISP hub bridged to R2 to PC with usb-c ethernet adapter - 200mbps
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 5, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 5, 2020 With the rule I gave you to do, if that doesn't work then there is an issue outside of the router. Looks like you have found it in that the built in ethernet on your PC is not able to do more than 100Mbps which is why the adapter worked better.
