STP - Spanning Tree Protocol

GenMatrix

Recommended Posts

I was looking through all the settings and saw this was disabled by default. I did some googling to understand what the protocol is and how it functions for networks so I am by no stretch of the imagination an expert on it but is there any reason why it's disabled by default?

What scenario(s) would I want to enable this?

Thanks in advance to whoever takes times out of their day to help me understand.

You would enable it if say you were using an Ad hoc networks between say two or more wireless PCs together, without the use of a wireless router or an access point. The computers communicate directly with each other. It doesn't need to be on as default. :)
