Gamer7
I currently have an open nat. Do I need to do port forwarding or is that redundant since I already have an open nat? Also, I am on Google fiber and my ping usually fluctuates 10-20ms up or down while in game. (Centered around 50ms or so.) Is this fluctuation normal? Many streamers I've seen who have their ping on the top left of their screen have a very stable ping, often not fluctuating at all. Usually there's no packet loss, but then I see a spike in packet loss right when the game starts up the plane flies over, but then seems to be 0 percent after that. I'm not sure if it spikes in gunfights or not since I'm on console I can't see what my ping is while I'm actually in a gunfight as on console it doesn't give you the option to put it on the screen like it does on pc. Is a packet loss spike normal right at the start of the game?
Alex49H
If you have an Open NAT with UPNP that is all you need. 👍🏼

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 27, 2020 Administrators Share Posted June 27, 2020 What Alex said! Are you looking at the ping in game for the fluctuations rather than the Geo-Filter? I get that sort of slow down at the start with the plane as well but then it's fine so I don't think it is anything to worry about.
Gamer7
Ya, that's going by the in game ping. I'll look at what the geo filter ping looks like tonight and see if it fluctuates.
