L7NALMARI Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Does static or dynamic address affect on ping and online gaming??
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 26, 2020 Administrators Posted February 26, 2020 Short answer: No. In terms of LAN - A static IP is you just telling the router give this device this specific IP. Dynamic is the router just assigning a free IP that it has in its pool of IP addresses. Usually once you've got an IP in this way it doesn't change too often. Same applies to static/dynamic public IP from the ISP though the dynamic IP in this case may change more often.
