GoDevilsX
Issue has been happening over the last month or so. Doesn't matter if there is only one device (Xbox One X), two of the same, or three (Two Xbox One X's and a laptop) on the LAN, all three devices are dropped from the internet. While this is happening Ethernet Ports that are active begin to blink simultaneously. Modem: CM1000 Router: Nighthawk XR500 Devices Connected: Xbox One X (2), Laptop, multiple wireless devices I had someone helping me on Reddit trying to work through this issue. Steps taken have been to turn Instant-On to OFF on both XB1X's. Power cycled both the modem and router. Factory Reset the router. Installed .40 firmware, then ran setup and restarted the router. Installed .56 firmware, ran setup, restarted router. None of this has stopped the internet connection from disconnecting. None of this has fixed it. But I decided to pull up the logs while playing to see what is happening and I have had this happen twice already, leading me to believe that this is the issue with no idea on how to stop it from happening. Unsure about posting the entire log as it contains MAC, IP, and IPv6 addresses.
Newfie
Hi Devil tis me who was helping you. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of your issue. out of interest IPV6 might cause issues, IPV4 I think is recommended but someone will confirm that. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 22, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 22, 2020 Hey, welcome to the forum! How often does the issue occur? Do all wireless devices sustain a connection? Have you tried a factory reset since the issue has started?
GoDevilsX
Trying to get a confirmed answer if WiFi connections drop as well. My wife has been using a smart TV around the times this has happened. However I can't confirm that wasn't buffered content and not effected until reconnection. This issue happened a total of 5-6 times last night in about a 3 hour period. Has happened twice since Factory Reset.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 22, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 22, 2020 Thanks for the info, do the connections come back within a few seconds or do you need a reboot? IPv6 could be a potential reason, do you have it set to Always Connect?
GoDevilsX
The connection takes about 1-2 minutes to reset itself.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 23, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 23, 2020 If it's not set to Always Connect the connection won't last long before it tries to re-establish itself so set it to this or disable IPv6 as it could be as simple as that. Your logs don't give a clear indication of what it could be.
GoDevilsX
So I re ran Setup and this time I didn't turn on IPv6. Now when I check my connection speeds through the XB1X I went from 700-900mbps down to 38mbps.
Newfie
Is it still slow at the moment or is it back up to how it was?
